These sheepskin baby rugs are British bred and come from the only registered organic sheepskin tannery in the British Isles.

It has been found a baby with a baby rug settles in most places, because they will relate to their rug not their surroundings.

The skins are tanned using a unique organically certified Biodynamic, chemical-free process (Demeter certificate 323, Defra UK6 and also complies with SA standards).
They are tanned with pure Mimosa extract from plantation grown trees in South Africa, grown specifically for the purpose and no part of the tree is wasted.
Only tannin from vegetable origin is environmentally friendly, nothing else is biodegradable. Mimosa gives a warm, soft, machine washable skin, with the fleece, fibre or hair as nature intended, minus the dirt and debris, which is friendly to people, babies and other animals.
The tannery also have their own reed bed which cleans the grey water and supports it’s own eco system.

These Sheepskins, suitable for those with the delicate skin of the newborn, the elderly and the bed ridden and are naturally in very, very short supply. They are very special.
The raw materials are only available for a matter of weeks in any one year. The fleece must be very soft and/or silky and just the right length and density. A very tight remit.

ORGANIC SHEEPSKINS are completely different to all others. No others comply with the very strict rules governing these laid down by an independent certification body.
Beware cheap substitutes; it has been thought that chemical residues may relate to cot death.
